These lights are great once you get the light and twinkle no twinkle cycle set up. I was afraid they would not charge enough since I get half day sun, but I have not had a problem.Lights are fine. Remote is cheap, buttons don't all seem to work. Tried to open to check battery and I can't get it opened so when battery dies who knows....This worked OK for a few months on the wall of my flat roof and gave a pleasant cheery light for rooftop parties. It was exposed to sun and rain every day and I recently noticed that some bulbs no longer lit up. Every third or fourth bulb stays off permanently, no matter what the lighting mode. I guess these would be ok if mounted out of direct rain and sun but don't bother if you want a long-term, robust external lighting system.Used these solar lights 2 times camping and one time in my living room when a storm knocked out the power works great and it's nice when it gets dark the lights turn on and when the sun comes out the lights turn off and start charging I love them and will probably get one more for campingWe like the looks. They are not very bright but we don't care much about that. We like the solar aspect to it, although you must find a sunny spot to put the collector. The big problem is that one of the two strands we bought has broken. I guess you get what you pay for...I got 2 sets of 60 solid globe LED solar light sets the other day in the mail from Amazon. I charged them in sun light for about 4 hours and they were still bright before daybreak after on all night. The solid clear globes are .87" dia. where other most common ones I bought in the past are .92" dia. advertised as one inch. Measured from first to last globe stretched out is 28', with 7 ' from the first globe to the solar panel. The solar panel has a large lithium 3.7V battery, measured 4.2V. Most all other solar panels I have seen on Amazon and Ebay have a small a1.2V battery and the LEDs are very dim lite. The voltage going out of the solar panel to the light string measures 3.1V AC. NOTE: LED's work equally well on AC or DC.Loved these lights until recently. (Had them up about a year) recently they started changing modes randomly. I always keep them on solid but I’ll look out and they’re blinking. And than the remote doesn’t work. Tried a new battery and it worked one night and now it’s back to blinking and the remote is not working again. Just annoying. Although it has been a year so it may just be time for a new set.These were lights went in my carport. They were super easy to install and exactly what I wanted! They charge solar very easily and quickly they are exactly what I wanted!Take two days to charge up and come on. Initially i was very disappointed and thought they were broken. Then they just came on! Helpful if this info was on the box. Now i’m really pleased with them. They look very pretty both when lit up and during the day when not lit up. Good value.I've not as yet managed to find a set of solar lights that come close to mains powered LED lights. That said, these light are quite good. After a clear sunny day, they'll run all night and turn off the following morning when day breaks. That's at 100% brightness too. You can set 25,50 and 100% brightness, flash, trace etc. on the remote control and the duration that the lights remain lit. That saving is remembered for the following day too, so once set, that's the way they'll work.One negative - the lights don't light up until it gets really dark. They haven't come in before 9:30pm as yet. I could alter the angle of the solar panel but that will affect the amount of charge the batteries get.Overall, I'd recommend them, losing one star for the switch-on point.I was a bit worried as cheaper than I was going to pay for lights, when they arrived they were smaller than I thought but my daughter told me to give them a try...they are fantastic, bright, very pretty. Happy with my purchase.I bought two sets of these lights, and have only just fitted them this afternoon, so wasn't expecting them to have charged up enough to work tonight (although went and checked as soon as it got slightly dark!), but then when it actually went dark they were shining away! As other people have said, there's a tiny bit of trial and error with the on/off switch on the panel, as it's not very obvious which is which, but then once they're on you just press the mode button on the panel until you reach the one that you want. I then could use the remote to turn them on and off, change the brightness and set a timer etc. The lights blink off and on again when you press something on the remote, presumably to show that the request has registered. Really pleased so far- they're so much brighter than I expected, and look great!This was my 2nd attempt at solar lights and I'm impressed so far. The panel is twice the size of the previous one we bought and looks less cheap - better quality. Which seems to make a big difference.We don't get much direct sunlight on our balcony but this panel catches enough to power the lights in the evening. Today was really overcast and they are still working just fine.I like the remote and set the lights to 50% and 3 hours. The string for the lights is also quite long and a nice bit of extra length at the end connecting to the panel.I'm pleased with my purchase and recommend especially if like me you're trying to choose between a few options.
